Kiana Potter

Guide

Born and raised in Juneau, Kiana has grown up in the mountains of Alaska. She came to AMS through the intern program with the University of Alaska Southeast and now guides for us. Driven and stoked, Kiana is inspired by many disciplines in the mountains, especially climbing, skiing, and trail running. She believes in teaching and guiding as a way to connect with others and facilitate intentional ways of being in the mountains. Kiana pursued a degree in Outdoor Studies and Indigenous Studies, centering thought about our relationship to the Land through recreational pursuits. When not in the Alaska Range, she can be found out on personal trips, teaching avalanche education and guiding around Southeast Alaska. Kiana also enjoys doing art, being with friends, and eating sardines.
