Elias Holt
Guide
First hired in 2018, Elias is about as local as you can get. He was born and raised in Talkeetna in a log home, with a bush pilot/hunting guide father and a strong, independent mother. Cutting his teeth as a guide at the early age of 19, Elias has taken ski trips in Japan’s famous deep powder; month-long expeditions in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge; and skied incredible corn on the Antarctic Peninsula. After viewing Denali and the Alaska Range throughout his childhood, he now is able to enjoy the incredible views from high-altitude climbing expeditions and instructing with Alaska Mountaineering School. He is currently based out of Anchorage, which puts him closer to the international airport and his travels for sport and play. When Elias is not guiding, he enjoys watching late-’80s sci-fi movies, drinking IPAs, and indulging his recent fascination with Cribbage. Certifications include Avalanche Rescue and Forecasting, rescue rope work, glacier rescue, ski instructing, rope access work, and Wilderness First Responder.
