Brock Roden

Joining AMS in 2019, Brock brings decades of guiding and search and rescue experience to the school. Originally from North Carolina, he began his guiding career for a university outdoor program before spending more than 15 years as a military search-and-rescue professional. Brock has now been a SAR tech instructor for over 10 years and performed dozens of rescue missions in Alaska. Brock is an active duty pararescueman for the United States Air Force. At AMS, Brock is an expert Denali guide and instructor for our mountaineering courses. In the winter, Brock teaches snow safety for the Alaska Avalanche School. When not working, he spends most of his time backcountry skiing, rock climbing, and hunting in remote Alaska, as well as developing his skills as a woodwright and playing the banjo.
