Claire Bicknell

A fiercely dedicated guide and skier, Claire found her love for mountaineering, rock climbing, and backcountry skiing in her home state of Colorado. She comes to us by way of Alaska Pacific University’s outdoor education program and completed an internship here at AMS during the 2022 season. Claire is now a regular mountaineering course and Denali guide for the school. When not in the classroom or at AMS, she helps with avalanche reporting and forecasting for Alaska Avalanche School and the Hatcher Pass Avalanche Center. With any other spare time, you can usually find Claire looking for the next best backcountry ski run in Southcentral Alaska or rock climbing walls around Anchorage.
