Michelle Leonard

After working throughout Alaska, Patagonia, New Zealand, the Canadian Yukon, Wyoming, Idaho, and Utah, Michelle came to AMS in 2021. Here at the school, she leads Denali expeditions and instructs on a range of mountaineering courses. Along with her work at AMS, Michelle is currently a mountaineering, backcountry skiing, and hiking instructor for NOLS. She is known at AMS for her effervescent personality that can lift anyone’s spirit, even on those double-carry-during-a-white-out-storm kinds of days.
