Mission Statement

AMS’ mission is to promote excellence in responsible mountaineering and wilderness travel by educating and guiding others. For decades, our organization’s goals and values have been driven by this mission. As a school, we have an insatiable desire to research, learn, and curate information. Our instructors engineer their syllabuses and the sequence of delivering material in a conscientious and explicit way. This is reflected in the pace and tempo of our course progressions. As a guiding company, AMS focuses on a specific peak objective where success is based on teamwork, individual performance, and returning to high camp unscathed.
